Live Music: Black Cat Trio

Join us for a Woodwind Wonderland performance by Black Cat Trio!

Featuring classical holiday music by a trio of members of Black Cat Ensemble. BCE is a Milwaukee-based mixed-instrumentation wind quintet that breaks barriers of ensemble traditions in the classical music sphere.

About the Artists

Kathryn Lawson is an oboist native to Cincinnati, Ohio who has performed with the Springboro Wind Symphony in Springboro, Ohio. She has a passion for helping people through music, and has a fascination with its emotional expressiveness and storytelling.

Wisconsin native Sami Weinkoetz began her clarinet studies at age 12. She has since taught clarinetists of all levels, from beginners to advanced collegiate players. Sami served as principal clarinet for the UWSP Symphonic Wind Ensemble, UWSP Symphony Orchestra, Plymouth Municipal Band, and the Youngstown State University Wind Ensemble. She has also performed with the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, and Menomonee Falls Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, she was named the winner of the Peet Faust Concerto Competition.

Dayton, Ohio native Vincent TyRaudel Martinez is a bassoonist, educator and thoughtful spirit towards the promotion of diversity in the arts. Having held positions teaching privately, as assistant band director at Berry Intermediate in Lebanon, Ohio, and three summers on music staff at Interlochen Fine Arts Camp, Vincent strives to foster engaging and brave spaces for expression. An avid performer and promoter of diversity through new music, Vincent has commissioned and been a consortium member of numerous works: including those from composers Amanda Harberg, Gilbert Galindo, Thomas Johnston, Noah Green, and as a
member of the Double Reed Dish consortium. Currently a Teaching Artist Fellow with the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, they aim to continue to engage in new music, both from their
peers and composers abroad. Through this they strive to impact their communities in a way that makes the world brighter, one note at a time.

HOMES Great Lakes Hand poured, small batch candles with plant-based wicks. 100% pure, sustainable soy wax from the Midwest.

Liz Butler Pottery I work with white stoneware clay with which I mainly throw on the potter’s wheel. Then, I carve and manipulate the clay into its final design. I feel that as a ceramic artist I am continuously learning, you can only grow by doing, by experimenting, by failing, and then by trying again. I have decided to take the time to do what makes my soul happy and nothing else makes me happier than the art of ceramics. Every piece of my artwork is a small part of me, an outward expression of what is within my soul. I feel that the life of a pot becomes complete when it has found a person who truly enjoys it. The natural beauty of the earth and what can be observed when connected with it…the patterns, colors, textures, and details that many don’t take the time to appreciate is what I strive to portray in my artwork.

Logan Creek Soap Logan Creek Soap creates handmade, all natural soaps and lotions. The use of sustainable products and essential oils leaves your skin smooth and silky.

SØSTRE SELF® SØSTRE℠, Norwegian for sister, offers self care experiences & services, in addition to a full line of natural handmade luxurious skincare and accessories under the SØSTRE SELF® brand. Also featured, whimsical art by Sarah Koehler.
